This week, Flat Stanley went back to Copenhagen. This time he brought his camera. Truth be told, Stanley probably had more fun than I did. While I was in meetings, Stanley was shopping, site-seeing and most likely, making friends with the Danish ladies. Thankfully, Stanley is now wearing a raincoat. While he can't be folded into envelopes as easily, he is certainly much easier to bring with me. I used to be so worried about the weather... but not anymore!!
When my meetings were finished, I met Stanley in Nyhavn, a famous, tho touristy, part of Copenhagen. The Nyhavn docks were built in 1670. Today, Nyhavn is home to a number of trendy restaurants and shops, and ships are docked in the quay year-round. The writer Hans Christian Andersen is a famous former resident of Nyhavn. The buildings are beautiful.
Here is a picture of Stanley and I in Nyhavn. We hung out in Nyhavn for a short time... we had a flight to catch!
One thing Stanley noticed about Copenhagen right away was the number of bicycles. People in Copenhagen take their bikes everywhere, in any weather. As there is still plenty of snow on the ground in Helsinki, Stanley couldn't resist taking a short spin on a bike while we were in Copenhagen.
But, like all of our trips recently, it was short. Less than 8 hours in fact. Over the next 10 days, we aren't travelling anywhere, so I'm going to show Stanley around Helsinki. Then we are going east -- to China, Hong Kong and Thailand! Flat Stanley already has his bathing suit packed!!
